Improve the power of a Board of Education and
BoE-Bot |
![]() |
Start with your BoE-Bot - but then ... Parallax' BoE-Bot is a popular BASIC Stamp® based hobby and educational robot. It comes with excellent courses to get a starting roboteer going. After making the basic robot, some fundamental limitations of the Stamp can make programming more advanced robot behaviors more difficult. By using the BoE's built-in AppMod connector to add our Co-Processor, those limitations dissappear! |
|
We now have a low-cost PCB kit you can buy to make
adding our Co-Processor easy.
Instead of connecting to the AppMod connector, it fits under either
a Board of Education or a Parallax Toddler board.
See the
Buy-a-Bot page to buy the
Co-Processor,
Bare PCB, or the
complete kit.
Because the BoE-Bot uses a 4 cell supply, be sure to order the Co-Processor with Brownout disabled. Look at the discussion on brownout detection. Here's the code. |

Here's the
schematic (1 pp - PDF - 47 KB)
of our AppMod connector Co-Processor board design shown
on the left. The Co-Processor reset is Stamp output P12. That line can be driven
low then high at the start of the program and all will be well. Keep
that line high during the program to keep from resetting the Co-Processor
again.

Here's the

of our Sensor board design shown on the left.
The sensor board connects to the Co-Processor board through the
10 pin ribbon cable seen on the left side of the board.
